As Senior Vice President, Business Development, Mel coordinates the identification and realization of attractive growth and alliance opportunities. His relationship expertise has aided Coldwell Banker NRT Development Advisors in identifying and closing on new business opportunities throughout the Southeast.
Mel brings more than 35 years of real estate experience to Coldwell Banker NRT Development Advisors, during which he has spearheaded the acquisition and sale of $7 billion in properties . Previously a driving force within Coldwell Banker The Condo Store, Mel was also president of Husney and Associates, a diversified real estate firm offering sales, property inspections, rehab and construction management, financing and acquisition and structure consulting. He also served as director of real estate for a national syndication firm, where he purchased, rehabbed and sold out three rental complexes as condominiums.
Mel holds broker’s licenses in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and South Carolina. He is a member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors and the Sales and Marketing Council of The Greater Atlanta Home Builders. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia.
